Festival de cinema Brasileiro já está com filme em cartáz. Dá uma olhadinha lá...



THE SUMMER STARTS HERE!



This month Wellington will be filled with the sound of drums, as we kick start the summer with a great selection of films, lot’s of music and parties!


With tickets at the low price of $12.00 ($10.00 for concessions) this promises to be the most affordable, as well as the most fun-filled festival of the year!


Join us for four days of feature films, documentaries, animation and music. Party Brazilian style at two spetacular festas (L.A.P.A. afterparty & Reel Brazil Festa) or even spoil yourself and clients to a luxury and glamorous evening of CINEMA, BOSSA NOVA and NETWORKING at a Corporate Screening, followed by a Gala Cocktail Function.

OPENING FILM

To get you in the mood, the Festival opens with the energetic and downright joyous comedy O Pai O, set amdist the craziness of the last day of carnival in Salvador, Bahia. African gods and Catholic saints are constantly invoked, while Samba reggae provides the pulse behind the soulful soundtrack by Davi Moraes and Caetano Veloso. The film stars popular Brazilian actor Lázaro Ramos (Madame Sata, Carandiru).

GUEST DIRECTOR

Reel Brazil is especially delighted to be able to bring PIRINOP, MY FIRST CONTACT director, Mari Correa, to New Zealand as a guest of the festival. As well as being a documentary maker and editor, Correa is the co-director of the NGO Video in the Villages, which provides video equipment and training to indigenous groups, allowing them to record their images and experiences.
